Bio:

Tiffany is an NC native who currently resides in Durham, NC. She received a BS and MA in Communication Disorders from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. She has a particular interest in emergent language in nonverbal children, specifically those children on the autism spectrum. Tiffany has worked in many different settings including daycares, facilities for adult populations with severe/profound developmental disorder, clinics, homes, and schools. Her clinical experience includes work with children with Developmental Delays, Feeding/Oral Motor Disorders, Down Syndrome, Autism, Apraxia, Medically Fragile Children, Failure to Thrive, language delays, and Articulation/Phonological Disorders. She has used Social Thinking strategies and “The Zones” to help shape behaviors of older children with state regulation difficulties. Tiffany has worked with parents to help create “social scripts” for children on the autism spectrum to aid in increased social skills and interpersonal relationships. She has received specialized training in Feeding Assessment/Intervention, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention, basic sign language, and extensive training in augmentative communication. Tiffany enjoys collaborating with family members, teachers, and other disciplines to help the child achieve his/her goals and experience carryover into daily routines
