Physical Therapist

Laura has a B.A. in Exercise Sports Science and a Masters degree in physical therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has been the lead physical therapist in a school based setting in Harnett County for the last three years. She has experience in early intervention in clinical and community based settings. Laura’s experience includes treating patients with cerebral palsy, developmental delays, spina bifida, spinal muscular atrophy, autism, encephalitis, genetic syndromes and traumatic brain injury. Laura has lead in-service instruction on the effective use of arm ergometers, measures of dyspraxia for children and children's health services in Sampson County. She has done research in attention allocation during dual task performance. Laura has training in PNF, NDT, SI, evaluating children with dyspraxia and casting for orthotics. She benefits from a biomechanical approach to movement that relates physics and muscle activation. Her true love is for helping families and their children make functional gains that improve their quality of life.
