Occupational Therapist

Alison graduated from Meredith College with a B.A. in Psychology and Biology. She then received her M.S. in Occupational Therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While at UNC, Alison received and participated in a pediatric research fellowship at Shriner's Hospital for Children in Greenville, SC along with an interdisciplinary fellowship covering rural healthcare in North Carolina. Alison has over 6 years of professional experience in home and school settings. She also has experience with older adults in long term care facilities. She has clinical experience working with individuals who have Down Syndrome, ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Mental Retardation, Cerebral Palsy, Genetic Syndromes, Developmental Delays, Learning Disabilities, and Orthopedic and Neurological Disorders. Alison has knowledge and skills to address areas of fine motor delay, coordination, visual motor and visual-perception, sensory processing, feeding, and areas of daily living. She strongly believes in the power of neurological devepment in young children by providing early intervention to ensure success in all children. She enjoys working as a team with children, families, caregivers, and other professionals to facilitate the most optimal outcomes.
