Catherine is a native of Fuquay-Varina, NC. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Carolina State University with a B.A. in Communication Disorders. Catherine graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Carolina Central University with a Masters of Education in Communication Disorders. Catherine has over eight years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist working with children and adolescents with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down Syndrome, Cognitive Delays, Developmental Delays and Aspergers's Syndrome. Her clinical experience includes evaluation and treatment of Articulation/Phonological Disorders, Language Disorders, Fluency Disorders, Pragmatic or Social Language Disorders, Apraxia and extensive experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Catherine has in depth experience with AAC device selection, programming, and implementation in homes and school settings. She has presented multiple workshops for SLPs, psychologists and teachers on developing communication skills with students with significant communication and cognitive disabilities. Catherine also has received extensive training in literacy assessments and instruction in order to incorporate this into speech language therapy. Every child should be given the ability to communicate effectively so Catherine passionately works with children and their families to give them the skills and tools they need to develop this ability. Catherine holds a Speech Language Pathology license from the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists and a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the America Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
