Speech-Language Pathologist

Christina originates from Oxford, NC. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Disorders and her Master of Arts Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. While in graduate school she received extensive training with the LiPS program, a phoneme sequencing program for reading, spelling, and speech as well as training in the diagnosis and treatment of Auditory Processing Disorders. Her clinical experience includes the diagnosis and treatment of language and articulation disorders in the early intervention population. She is knowledgeable in the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices for individuals with limited mobility and has a variety of knowledge with autism, pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders as well as oral motor stimulation. She has additional experience in the treatment of individuals with craniofacial abnormalities and genetically based syndromes. Christina has provided therapeutic intervention in the home, daycare and school settings, in addition to parent and caregiver inservices. She enjoys partnering with families and working with a multidisciplinary to evaluate and treat the whole child. Christina holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and is licensed by the North Carolina State Board for Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiologist .
