Occupational Therapist
Elizabeth graduated with her bachelor's degree from Clemson University in 1993. She then attended Occupational Therapy school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, graduating in 1998. She also holds a Master's in Health Science from Georgia Southern University, with a focus on community health promotion. Since becoming an Occupational Therapist, Elizabeth has focused on pediatrics. She has practiced in many different settings including private outpatient clinics, hospitals, schools, daycare centers, and in the home setting. She has experience with children of all ages with various diagnoses, including autism spectrum disorders, genetic disorders, neurologic and orthopedic disorders, developmental delay, fine motor delay, coordination issues, visual perceptual and visual processing difficulties, and sensory processing disorders. She has received extensive continuing education in sensory processing disorders, treatment of fine motor delays, and is trained in Handwriting Without Tears. Elizabeth's range of special interests is broad including early intervention and working with pre-school and school age children. She is a strong advocate for involving the caregivers in her family-centered approach to Occupational Therapy.
