Speech-Language Pathologist
Kristen graduated from West Virginia University with a B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology and a minor in Spanish. She received her M.A. in Communicative Disorders from the University of Central Florida. Kristen has experience working in a variety of settings, including public school systems, prescribed pediatric extended care facilities, adult workshops, home health, and charter preschools. She has a special interest in working with the birth to five population and has experience with oral motor, feeding/swallowing, augmentative communication devices, language delays/disorders, pre-linguistic and early language, early literacy, articulation/phonological processing, Apraxia, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, hearing loss, developmental delay, and various chromosome disorders. She has training and experience in Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention. Kristen holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and is licensed by the North Carolina State Board for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists. She is highly experienced in working with bilingual children and enjoys using Spanish during therapy to communicate with clients and their parents in their native language.
