Signs and symptoms of speech and language problems:
- Not talking by age 2
- Difficulty producing sounds (articulation)
- Unintelligible speech
- Difficulty labeling common items and familiar people
- Difficulty following verbal directions
- Echolia (repeating back words and phrases without comprehension)
- Word retrieval difficulties
- Difficulty with word meaning
Signs and symptoms of reading or literacy problems:
- Difficulty with letter recognition
