Bio:

Ciara Brown, originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania recently moved to the Raleigh area. She received her Bachelor of Science degree at Slippery Rock University in 2013, in Exercise Science with a minor in Adapted Physical Activity and Psychology, and Master of Occupational Therapy at University of Pittsburgh in 2015. Ciara is currently pursuing her Post Professional- Doctor of Occupational Therapy at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). After working in early intervention a few years in Pittsburgh, Ciara relocated to Charleston, South Carolina working in outpatient, natural environment and early intervention.

Ciara has always been passionate about working with the pediatric population. She has experience working in early Intervention, outpatient clinic, natural environment, daycare setting, as well as co-coordinating a feeding camp, developing and implementing a pediatric playgroup, and coordinating and running pediatric yoga classes. She has a particular interest in working with the birth to five population, addressing feeding and oral motor concerns. She has experience with Beckman oral motor, S.O.S Approach to feeding, feeding therapy, Infant Mental Health, family training and coaching techniques, pediatric yoga, and sensory processing. She also has experience with Handwriting without Tears, and visual rehabilitation for pediatrics. Ciara focuses to have a positive influence in the field of Occupational therapy – improving the overall health and well-being in the pediatric population. In her spare time, Ciara enjoys traveling, spending time with her dog & boyfriend, & friends and family, and enjoying outdoor activities.
