Katie is a native of North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences from East Carolina University and went on to earn her Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Appalachian State University. Katie has experience evaluating and treating children in preschool programs, daycares, private practice, in the home setting and in the public schools. She has clinical experience working with all types of communication delays and impairments, including but not limited to the following: apraxia, articulation impairments, cognitive delays/deficits, language disorders, and fluency disorders. Katie has a special interest in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
In her spare time, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, and going to the beach. She is licensed by the board of North Carolina and has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
